AI is dramatically increasing engineering throughput. As a result, the new constraint is product management capacity and reach: choosing the right things to build, translating intent into crisp requirements, and keeping teams aligned through delivery.
But it’s risky to blindly offload critical product decisions to AI—especially the “what should we build and why?” layer. “Sure, let’s put that on autopilot… what can go wrong?”
After 10+ years leading product teams, I built northstar.pm to help PMs move faster and enable engineers/founders to do product work like a pro. The goal isn’t to replace product thinking with a tool; it’s to define and operationalize quality standards across the team: how problems are framed, PRDs are written, and requirements are structured.
