Context Forge: MCP Gateway Registry
Explore IBM's open-source Context Forge, an MCP gateway and registry simplifying AI model access to tools and data for more reliable, actionable results.
Model Context Protocol (MCP) promises a unified, standards-based way for AI models to securely access tools, data, and context across platforms so they can deliver richer, more accurate, and more actionable results.
Today, organizations are struggling with inconsistent tool implementations, immature ecosystem support, and integration friction that makes MCP deployments more complex and less reliable than intended.
An MCP gateway & registry serves as a central management point for tools, resources, and prompts that can be accessed by MCP-compatible LLM applications. We will demonstrate IBM’s open source MPC-Context- Forge project; how it works and what’s the value for participants.
FastAPI gateway translating REST to MCP using Redis for federation.
- MPC-Context-ForgeA unified gateway and registry for the Model Context Protocol (MCP) that secures and federates AI tools, REST APIs, and agent-to-agent services.MPC-Context-Forge acts as the central traffic controller for your AI infrastructure. It unifies MCP servers, REST APIs, and agent-to-agent services into one secure endpoint, automating the protocol translation (SSE to stdio) required for complex tool integration. The system scales across multi-cluster Kubernetes environments using Redis-backed federation and enforces governance with JWT authentication. With a dedicated Admin UI and support for Python 3.11+, it provides the observability needed to manage high-volume agent interactions without the typical integration overhead.
