KEW's Advanced Thermal Conversion (ATC) technology converts non-recyclable waste and low-grade biomass into high-value, net-zero energy products: clean hydrogen, heat, and advanced fuels.

KEW Technology deploys its patented Advanced Thermal Conversion (ATC) process, a carbon-capture-ready system that efficiently gasifies diverse waste feedstocks into clean, pressurized syngas. This unique process is more versatile than downdraft gasification and less energy-intensive than plasma technology (cite: 1.8). The flagship Sustainable Energy Centre (SEC) in Wednesbury, UK, demonstrates this capability, converting approximately 14,000 tonnes per year of mixed waste into energy vectors like 1.8 MWe (electricity) and diesel substitutes (cite: 1.8, 1.5). The technology is a key enabler for industrial decarbonization, specifically targeting hard-to-abate sectors by producing industry-grade hydrogen (H₂) and generating negative emissions via their CCH₂ (Carbon Capture and Hydrogen Purification) solution (cite: 1.2).
