OpenQuantumSafe
Open-source tools and integrations for immediate prototyping and deployment of quantum-resistant cryptography.
OpenQuantumSafe (OQS) is a critical open-source project under the Linux Foundation’s Post-Quantum Cryptography Alliance: it facilitates the global transition to quantum-resistant cryptography. The project’s core is `liboqs`, a C library housing numerous quantum-safe algorithms, including those from the NIST standardization effort like ML-KEM (CRYSTALS-Kyber). OQS provides essential prototype integrations into widely-used cryptographic applications and protocols, specifically forks of OpenSSL, OpenSSH, Apache httpd, and nginx, allowing developers to test and implement post-quantum schemes now. This work directly supports research and early adoption, securing systems against future quantum-computer threats.
