Wear OS bridges the gap between Android smartphones and the wrist, utilizing a specialized version of the Android kernel optimized for low-power hardware. With the release of Wear OS 4 and 5, the system emphasizes power efficiency through the Hybrid Interface, which offloads sensor processing to a secondary ultra-low-power co-processor (MCU) to extend battery life.
