Knative
Knative is a Kubernetes-based platform for deploying and managing serverless workloads through event-driven scaling and simplified container orchestration.
Knative strips away the complexity of Kubernetes by providing two core components: Serving and Eventing. Serving handles the heavy lifting of request-driven activation, enabling containers to scale from zero to peak demand and back down automatically. Eventing creates a standardized ecosystem for connecting services to data streams from sources like GitHub, Apache Kafka, or Google Cloud Pub/Sub. By abstracting the underlying infrastructure, Knative allows developers to focus on code while operators maintain control over resource quotas and routing policies (via Istio, Contour, or Kourier).
