Knative/k8s
Knative abstracts Kubernetes complexity into a streamlined serverless platform for deploying and scaling event-driven containers.
Knative transforms a standard Kubernetes cluster into a high-velocity developer environment by managing the heavy lifting of traffic routing and autoscaling. It consists of two primary components: Serving and Eventing. Serving handles the request-driven model (including scaling to zero when idle and rapid spikes to 1,000+ pods), while Eventing creates a standardized ecosystem for consuming triggers from sources like Kafka, GitHub, or GCP Pub/Sub. By using Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) to define Services and Triggers, operators eliminate the manual toil of configuring LoadBalancers, Ingress rules, and HPA logic for every microservice.
